Artist Amjad Ghannam born in Jerusalem in 1981
He is a former prisoner and held his first solo exhibition in 2016 entitled (Ras and Ross), which embodies an aspect of the current reality in a several Arab countries and the violence and migration they are facing. The name of the exhibition was inspired by the artwork he did as heads appear covered with bags like those placed on the head during execution in his paintings. He deliberately use faded colors to serve his idea.
His breakthrough as an artist occurred in 2010, while he was detained in an Israeli prison, when he painted a greeting card and sent it to the organizer of the “Picasso in Palestine” project, who printed the card and circulated it widely. Being a former political prisoner, in his artwork Amjad reflects his concerns on freedom, oppression, war and contemporary issues pertaining to Palestinians and Arabs.
His work has been shown in many group exhibitions such as:

الفنان امجد غنام مواليد القدس عام 1981
هو اسير سابق و قد اقام معرضه الفردي الاول عام 2016 بعنوان ( راس و روس ) الذي يجسد من خلاله جانبا من الواقع الحالي في عدد من الدول العربية و ما تشهده من عنف و هجرة . و استوحى اسم المعرض من اللوحات . حيث تطل رؤوس مغطاة باكياس كتلك التي توضع على الرأس خلال عمليات الاعدام . و قد تعمد استخدام الالوان الباهتة لخدمة الفكرة .
حدثت انطلاقته كفنان في عام 2010 ، عندما كان محتجزًا في أحد السجون الإسرائيلية ، عندما رسم بطاقة تهنئة وأرسلها إلى منظم مشروع "بيكاسو في فلسطين" الذي طبع البطاقة ووزعها على نطاق واسع. كونه سجينًا سياسيًا سابقًا ، يعكس أمجد في أعماله الفنية مخاوفه بشأن الحرية والقمع والحرب والقضايا المعاصرة المتعلقة بالفلسطينيين والعرب.
