Artist Alaa Al-Baba

Artist Alaa Al-Baba, born in Jerusalem in 1985.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the International Academy of Arts in Palestine.

After graduating from the academy, he participated in many local and international exhibitions. One of his most prominent artistic projects is (The Fish Path), which consists of 18 murals spread around Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon, where the experience of Palestinian refugees is reflected in the fish path in the ocean.

One of his most important solo exhibitions is the (The Camp) exhibition, through which he reflects how the beholder looks at the camp from the outside, so that the architecture appears with a special vision that indicates the personal relationship between the artist and the camp. The exhibition also included paintings and works of art through which the artist reconstructs the camp through the horizontal architecture details that reveal the daily life in the camp. These works are inspired by the Al-Amari refugee camp in Ramallah. The body of the camp may appear worn out, but its vibrant alleys pump life into its outskirts, so the artist chose bright shades of pink, blue and green. Because the colored camp, in his view, is closer to depicting its vital, chaotic, and contradictory reality.

In 2021, he participated in the group exhibition (Ramallah Art Fair), which included about 150 paintings by more than 30 artists at Zawya Gallery in Ramallah.
