Artist Muhammad al-Hajj

Artist Muhammad al-Hajj was born in Libya in 1982 and currently lives in Gaza City.

He received a bachelor’s degree in art education from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza in 2004. He is a founding member of the Palestinian association for contemporary art in Gaza. Also, he is a member of the Roots Group for Fine Art and the Paletta Group for Fine Art in Palestine. Currently, he teaches art education in public schools in Gaza City.

The techniques of his paintings vary from one art style to another. His thorough and diverse art experience ranges from monumental sculpting (relief), Black and white graphics, colored graphics, and abstractive art. Additionally, he painted several murals in various different locations.

His fine artwork is a summary of his life experiences, self-earned academic and professional knowledge and his personal visual culture reflected in cognitive and performance abilities.

His paintings manifest humanitarian and social cases that express life situations, hence prominently bearing images of woman. Although his paintings differ in art styles, each of them is a masterpiece that promises a prosperous future for this artist.

He participated in several group and individual exhibitions in Palestine and foreign countries, some of his most important individual exhibitions including: –

– His solo exhibition entitled (still existent), which was held in the Gallery of The Walled Off hotel in 2018. In 2019, he held the same exhibition at the Liwan Cultural Cafe in Nazareth.

– An individual exhibition entitled (Black Entity) at the Kattan Center for Children in Gaza City in 2013.
