Artist Munther Jawabreh

Artist Munther Jawabreh, born in Al-Arroub camp in 1976.

He studied fine arts at An-Najah National University in Nablus and participated in many solo and group exhibitions at local and Arab levels. He also showed his artworks in Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Japan.

Jawabreh established a studio (301) in Bethlehem in 2013. He was one of the founders of Al Mahatta Gallery in Ramallah in 2008 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Plastic Artists Association in 2006.

He studied in many Palestinian universities until 2012 after that he devoted himself to artistic production.

His artistic style is very sensitive to his society, and he always tries to improve it. He is an artist who combines drawing, photography, and video art. He presented visual artworks that aimed to analyze the reality of the Palestinian popular resistance and its transformations.

As for what currently occupies Jawabreh, it is the cement material, which has become a large part of the Palestinian reality under occupation. He is trying to adapt the cement and use it in a new way and subject it to extreme conditions in order to know if it will change or be affected and if it is stable.

His most important exhibitions and artistic projects:

• 2015: Solo exhibition entitled (What is Known) in Rabat, Morocco.
• 2017: Project (The Revolution Led by a Hero) which came in the form of 3 performance images in which was about the aggression on Gaza Strip in 2014.
• 2017: Solo exhibition entitled (Altitude) in Tunisia.
• 2018: Project (Migrating Bodies) using acrylic on canvas, where his works represented the state of political frustration and its impact on the Palestinians.
