Suhail Salem:
Artist born in Gaza in 1974.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Al-Aqsa University in 1999. He is one of the founders of the Contemporary Arts Group. It is the first program and initiative in the Gaza Strip to teach and practice the foundations of contemporary arts through theoretical meetings with contemporary artists from outside Gaza.
His artistic style is characterized by expressiveness and simple objectivity. Hence we see that his artworks resemble the life he lives and the internal and personal pressures experienced by Gaza artists.
He works in the field of installation art and video art, and has also produced artistic sculptures and worked in the field of graphic design.
He participated in many artistic residencies in several countries, including Jordan, Switzerland and France. He also participated in many collective art exhibitions in Gaza, Jordan and France and worked as a teacher of fine arts at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza.
He recently participated in the collective exhibition (Hakaya) in 2021 at Wadi Feynan Art Gallery – Amman, with the participation of 4 other artists from Gaza.
الفنان سهيل سالم مواليد غزة عام 1974
حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الفنون الجميلة من جامعة الأقصى عام 1999 . هو احد مؤسسي مجموعة ( التقاء الفنون المعاصرة ) .و هو البرنامج و المبادرة الأولى في قطاع غزة لتعليم و ممارسة اسس الفنون المعاصرة من خلال لقاءات نظرية مع فنانين معاصرين من خارج غزة .
تميز اسلوبه الفني بالتعبيرية و الموضوعية البسيطة حيث نرى اعماله الفنية قريبة من الحياة التي يعيشها و يعبر من خلالها عن الضغوطات الداخلية و الشخصية التي يمر بها فنانو غزة .
يعمل في مجال الفن التركيبي و فن الفيديو و قد انتج ايضا منحوتات فنية و عمل في مجال التصميم الجرافيكي .
شارك في العديد من الاقامات الفنية في عدة دول منها الاردن ، سويسرا ، فرنسا . و شارك في العديد من المعارض الفنية الجماعية في غزة و الاردن و فرنسا . و عمل كمدرس للفنون الجميلة في جامعة الاقصى في غزة .
شارك مؤخرا في المعرض الجماعي ( حكايا ) عام 2021 في جاليري وادي فينان للفنون – عمان بمشاركة 4 فنانين اخرين من غزة .
