Artist Tariq Salsa, was born in Beit Sahour in 1977
Fine art artist, community activist and field trainer. Founded and accomplished many artistic works and cultural and community initiatives. Participated in many projects and art exhibitions.
The art of sculpture is a traditional craft inherited from his ancestors, he considers it a mean of resistance through art in which he believes in and considers it the voice through which the truth can be reached.
“Resistance”
This work bears religious symbols, in the middle of the hands we see the traces of the two nails that hung Christ on the cross. These two hands show pain, oppression, and torment, and at the same time they show faith and the strength of cohesion despite everything. As for the fence, it is evidence of the siege that has become linked to the Palestinian people. Resistance lies in hope, prayer, and faith.
“Prophet of the revolution”
The idea for the sculpture comes from the artist’s belief that every messenger of God is a revolutionary, and they came to challenge Al Qaeda. The olive wood used in this plot is originally a branch of an old olive tree that was forcibly uprooted by Israeli settlers from the lands of Palestinian farmers, as part of the policy of erasing the Palestinian Canaanite identity of this land. Which in fact will never disappear. This original part was produced in 2015 and there are replicas in a smaller size produced in 2020.
“Canaan”
The work is inspired by “The Homeland, God, Human ” is “Canaan”, the son of man in the time of the first civilizations on earth. Produced in 2021. It is one of 13 sculptures, each with a different title and story

فنان تشكيلي و ناشط مجتمعي و مدرب ميداني . اسس و انجز العديد من الاعمال الفنية و المبادرات الثقافية و المجتمعية . شارك في العديد من المشاريع و المعارض الفنية . فن النحت حرفة تقليدية ورثها عن اجداده . فهو يعتبرها وسيلة للمقاومة عبر الفن الذي يؤمن به و يعتبره الصوت الذي يمكن من خلاله الوصول للحقيقة .
مقاومة
يحمل هذا العمل رموزا دينية ، فنرى وسط اليدين اثار المسمارين اللذين علقا المسيح على خشبة الصليب . تظهر هاتان اليادان الالم و القهر و العذاب و بنفس الوقت تظهران الايمان و قوة التماسك بالرغم من كل شيء . اما السياج فهو دليل على الحصار الذي بات مرتبطا بالشعب الفلسطيني . فالمقاومة تكمن في الامل و الصلاة و الايمان .
نبي الثورة
تأتي فكرة المنحوتة من ايمان الفنان بأن كل رسول من الله هو ثوري . و لقد جاؤو لتحدي القاعدة . خشب الزيتون المستخدم في هذه القطعة هو بالاصل غصن شجرة زيتون قديمة اقتلعها المستوطنون الاسرائليون قسرا من اراضي المزارعين الفلسطنيين ، في اطار سياسة محو الهوية الفلسطينية الكنعانية لهذه الارض . التي في الواقع لن تختفي ابدا . هذه القطعة الاصلية تم انتاجها عام 2015 و يوجد منها نسخ طبق الاصل بحجم اصغر تم انتاجها عام 2020 .
كنعان
العمل مستوحى من ( الوطن ، الاله ، الانسان ) هو كنعان ابن الانسان في زمن الحضارات الاولى على الأرض . انتج عام 2021 . و هو قطعة من بين 13 منحوتة تحمل كل واحدة عنوان و قصة مختلفة .
