Artist Zaid Shawa, born in Gaza in 1978.
He studied engineering at the University of Jordan and obtained an MBA from the American University. His love and interest in art began at an early age, and he mainly worked on portraits and landscapes in a classic form using monochrome shades using charcoal as a primary medium.
Over time, his style evolved to move from the classic form of painting to a more abstract interpretation of the shapes and surrounding areas. At this stage, his paintings were mostly abstract expressionism. It relies mainly on expressing the idea in a spontaneous, subliminal, and natural way, and does not abandon the extensive use of colors and materials to convey the message from the painting.
Currently, he mainly combines in his paintings the emotional intensity of abstract expressionism with the deconstructive nature of cubism. In a simplified expression of the form and its relationship to its surroundings and its meetings and connections. His paintings are mostly based on real life moments. He mainly paints using acrylic and oil.
In his work, he aims to present ideas and feelings that are based on real experiences. Which will live on and have meaning for the world.
He participated in many group exhibitions in Amman, Dubai, Turkey, and Lebanon.
In 2020, he held a solo exhibition entitled (Embodiment), in which he discussed the concept of the relationship between man and the chair. As if the chair becomes a representative of its owner, expressing him, and suggesting to him that he owns something in this world.

درس الهندسة في الجامعة الأردنية و حصل على ماجستير ادارة الأعمال من الجامعة الأمريكية . بدأ حبه و اهتمامه للفن في سن مبكر ، و عمل بشكل اساسي على الصور الشخصية و المناظر الطبيعية في شكل كلاسيكي باستخدام ظلال احادية اللون باستخدام الفحم كوسيط اساسي .
مع مرور الوقت تطور اسلوبه لينتقل من الشكل الكلاسيكي باللوحة الى التفسير الأكثر تجريديا للأشكال و المناطق المحيطة . بهذه المرحلة كانت لوحاته تعبيرية تجريدية في معظمها . تعتمد بشكل اساسي على التعبير عن الفكرة بطريقة عفوية و لا شعورية و طبيعية ، و لا تتخلى عن الاستخدام المكثف للألوان و المواد لتوصيل الرسالة من اللوحة .
حاليا يجمع بلوحاته بشكل اساسي بين الكثافة العاطفية للتعبير التجريدي و الطبيعة التفكيكية للتكعيبية . في تعبير مبسط عن الشكل و علاقته بمحيطه و لقائاته و ارتبطاته . تعتمد لوحاته في الغالب على لحظات حقيقية في الحياة . يرسم بشكل اساسي باستخدام الأكريليك و الزيت .
يهدف في عمله الى تقديم الأفكار و المشاعر التي تستند الى تجارب حقيقية . و التي ستعيش و لها معنى بالنسبة للعالم .
شارك في الكثير من المعارض الجماعية في عمان و دبي و تركيا و لبنان .
و في العام 2020 اقام معرض فردي بعنوان ( تجسيد ) بحث فيه مفهوم العلاقة بي الانسان و الكرسي . و كأن الكرسي يصبح ممثلا لصاحبه ، يعبر عنه ، و يوحي له بأنه يملك شيئا في هذا العالم .
